Verso la Luna con Fellini, as the documentary was first known, made its debut on Italian television before the release of La Voce della Luna and was an instant hit. Nobody had ever seen such an intimate look at Italy's most beloved filmmaker and his process. Over the next several years, Towards the Moon with Fellini played at several festivals, earning numerous awards, nominations and critical acclaim.
